Etienne Bachmann joined Jeroen Tromp’s group as a postdoctoral research associate in May 2017. He received a Ph.D. in ultrasound imaging from University of Toulouse in France, and a master diploma in mathematical engineering from INSA of Toulouse. His research interests include ultrasound imaging, full waveform inversion, wave propagation modelling and high performance computing. He is currently working on adapting full waveform inversion techniques to the ultrasound context and its main practical applications, such as Non-Destructive Testing and medical imaging.
